President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has initiated the e-visa process, detailing the conditions for visa-free entry, making travel to the Philippines simpler. This initiative, aimed at promoting tourism and cultural exchange, allows Indian citizens to enjoy visa-free entry into the Philippines under specific conditions. Indian tourists can enter the Philippines without a visa for a stay of up to 14 days. Here are the necessary conditions for visa-free entry.
Requirements for Visa-Free Entry
Indian tourists wishing to enjoy visa-free entry to the Philippines must possess a valid or recently expired visa or permanent residency permit for the USA, Japan, Australia, Canada, Singapore, or the UK. Additionally, the passport must be valid for at least six months beyond the intended stay in the Philippines. Tourists must also show a return or onward ticket. Visitors should have a clean record with the Philippines Bureau of Immigration, the National Intelligence Coordinating Agency, or Interpol.
Extend Stay by 7 Days
Under the visa-free entry policy, Indian tourists can enter the Philippines for up to 14 days, with an option to extend their stay by 7 days. Thus, the maximum stay can be 21 days. It is important to note that visa-free entry is only for tourism purposes and cannot be converted into other visa categories. For business travel, an appropriate visa must be obtained.
