IndiGo records 10 million passengers: India’s gross domestic passenger traffic in November recorded an all-time high, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) said. At the same time, the regulator said that the Delhi airport performed its best in November. The performance of the three airlines last month is also unprecedented.
IndiGo records 10 million passengers
IndiGo became the first airline in India to carry more than 10 million passengers in a month. IndiGo carried 9.07 million passengers on India’s domestic routes in November and the rest on international destinations. Earlier, IndiGo carried 8.64 million 8.52 million passengers in October 2024 and December 2023, respectively.
Setting a new record in passenger carried, IndiGo also took its share of India’s domestic aviation passenger market to 63.6 per cent, an all-time high. Despite making losses after seven quarters, IndiGo’s domestic business is now one-and-a-half times that of its pre-Covid business. The growth rate of their business is even higher on international routes.
Air India and Air India Express carried 3.47 million passengers in November.
Their share in the aviation passenger market is 24.4 percent. The first 11 days of November were different. Vistara has merged with Air India from November 12. This is the first time that Air India has carried more than 3 million domestic passengers in a single month. Air India is expected to carry more passengers in December.
